Reckitt is investing up to $600 million on a multi-year transformation of its US operations across two sites.

The move, officials say, aims to accelerate the long-term growth of its US business. The Happi Top 30 Company‘s legacy dates to 1892 with a significant presence across the US for more than a century with iconic brands such as Lysol, Clearasil and more.

“Today’s investments will continue building our scientific leadership and R&D, drive new innovations and expand our infrastructure allowing Reckitt to increase access for consumers to high-quality health products,” said Jérôme Lemaire, president, Reckitt North America.

Investments will include relocation and integration of its commercial and R&D capabilities into a campus in New Jersey and significantly expanded plans for its largest OTC manufacturing facility in North Carolina.

Reckitt employs more than 4,000 employees at seven manufacturing sites and three science and innovation centers across the US.

Next Phase of Development

Reckitt recently relocated its North American campus in New Jersey to support commercial and operational teams. As the next phase of development, the company said it will break ground on a new state-of-the-art science and innovation center with best-in-class capabilities in disinfection, microbiology, surface care, laundry care and personal care.

This flagship germ protection hub within Reckitt’s global R&D network will be pivotal in advancing Reckitt’s portfolio, including Lysol. At the center of this transformation is a new model for innovation that brings together world-class R&D, advanced scientific capabilities, and commercial expertise to speed the path from concept to shelf.

“Investing in advanced R&D capability is essential to building for the future,” said Angela Naef, chief R&D officer, Reckitt. “This investment fundamentally changes how we innovate. By bringing science, insight and execution closer together, we can move faster from discovery to delivery, developing high-quality, science-led solutions that meet evolving consumer needs and scale globally.”

Reckitt has doubled its initial investment for its state-of-the art OTC manufacturing facility in North Carolina. The site, officials said, will become its largest OTC manufacturing facility in the US with additional funding supporting expanded production capacity for Mucinex tablets and liquids, as well as increased production volumes for Move Free. The site will open in the first half of 2027. The investment also significantly expands the facility’s physical footprint, creating the space needed to support future growth, enhance manufacturing flexibility and accommodate new capabilities as demand evolves, officials said.
